This classic transcended its Disney moniker, making The Lion King one of the greatest film musicals of all time. With the release of its hyper-realist reimagining, it is time to rank all of the music from this Disney masterpiece. Ranking last on this list, and somehow still being fantastic, is the musical interlude between Timon and Pumbaa. The Lion Sleeps Tonight lands at the bottom mostly due to its minimal status in the film. It is a small moment that fans adore and was joyfully recreated for this remake , but it is still such a small throwaway moment. Unlike live-action re-releases, Disney animated features can often get away with added scenes.

Part of this mental deal-with-the-Disney-devil is that we forget to actually ask ourselves if good Disney songs are songs we would want to listen to, on their own. In other words, do we accept Disney songs as good because they are earworms or do we actually like them?
So far, everything about this movie looks brilliant, even though the critics think otherwise. One of the most memorable parts of the animated classic is the memorable music. Composer Hans Zimmer is an absolute legend and has orchestrated a timeless classic with his score and musical pieces. Elton John also does a phenomenal job as well. All of these songs are instantly recognizable by almost anyone.
